🧐 I spent a year on research. AI could do it in minutes.

But here's the trap...

I had one of those a-ha moments this week… But before I get to that, let’s rewind a bit.

Yeah. I’m that old.

Ever spent way too long on a research project, only to wish you had a time machine to speed it up?

Same.

When I was writing my master’s thesis, it took me over a year! 🤯

Not because I procrastinated, but because:

📌 My topic was uncharted - I needed original insights, not recycled ideas.
📌 Half the sources I needed were buried in physical archives or untranslated texts.
📌 I spent months interviewing historians, mentors, and peers to piece together a well-rounded perspective.

The result?

127 pages of hard-earned insights and a few awards.

(Yay! Congratulations to me. 🎊)

But let’s be honest - while awards are nice, they aren’t the real measure of success.

The real win (for me) was knowing I’d cracked a question no one else had tackled.

I was the one who brought it to life.

However, this week, thanks to DeepSeek, I found some answers ridiculously fast (and they were beyond just the basics).

For a moment, I was blown away…

And now I’m stuck wondering…

What if…

What if tools like DeepSeek or OpenAI’s Deep Search existed back then?

✔️ Would my research have been faster? Absolutely.
✔️ Better? Maybe.
✔️ Would I have truly understood my topic as deeply? Doubt it.
✔️ Trusted my sources as fiercely? Unlikely.
✔️ Felt the same pride in the work? Not a chance.

Now, this is where things get interesting.

AI is turning months of work into minutes. Information is everywhere, wisdom is rare, and knowledge is becoming dirt cheap.

But here’s the paradox:

When information is cheap, deep understanding becomes priceless.

In a world where anyone can generate answers instantly, your edge won’t be what you know - it’ll be how you think.

It isn’t just knowing things - it’s knowing what matters and how to act on it.

What’s next?

1️⃣ Research becomes a baseline skill. Everyone’s drowning in data.

2️⃣ The real battle? Filtering noise, spotting patterns, and making decisions - not collecting facts.

3️⃣ Winners will ignore 99% of what’s out there. Their power? Knowing which 1% matters.

The Buffett lesson for the AI era

Warren Buffett didn’t build his empire by hoarding data. He thrived by:

✔️ Ignoring 95% of available information.
✔️ Trusting his judgment over trends.
✔️ Acting decisively on meaningful insights.

Buffet didn’t just consume information. He knew which information to trust and how to act on it

Today, that skill is more important than ever:

🔥 True success lies in depth, not speed.
🔥 Your intuition and critical thinking? Those can’t be automated.
🔥 In a world of infinite content, focus and clarity are your superpowers.

Success isn’t about knowing everything - it’s about understanding the right things.

Final take 💡

We’re entering an age where access to knowledge is worthless - but mastery of it is priceless.

The future belongs to those who think sharper, curate ruthlessly, and turn insights into action.

And remember: Research may be free. Wisdom isn’t.

Here’s to deep thoughts, bold choices, and staying on top. 🥂
